Environmental Responsibility

BHS tabletop AG and the individual brands have been quiet when it comes to promoting our environmental responsible initiatives.   That does not mean that we are not on the forefront of environmental responsibility.   Some bullet points outlining some of our initiatives:

 

Ø  The introduction of the rapid-firing technology and the use of light firing equipment made of high-tech ceramics help to prevent emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. As a result, we are exempt from participating in CO2 trading schemes.

Ø  Gaseous fluorine compounds, the only other harmful substances worthy of note, have been filtered from the flue gases ever since the beginning of 1990.

Ø  Besides that, we received an “Energy Efficiency Award 2008” for the decrease of energy consumption in the production site in Weiden. 90 companies applied for this award.

 

Bauscher and Tafelstern report a resupply need of only 5 – 8% on a global basis.   This is consistent with our experience in the USA market.  Direct competitors, on average, require a 20 – 25% annual resupply.   Less expensive product manufactured in lower cost countries can have upwards  of 100% resupply on an annual basis and may be manufactured in markets with less stringent environmental requirements.  This means less Bauscher and Tafelstern products are being consumed, thrown into waste, and having less environmental impact.

About:  Range of plates and deep plates containing 16 items.   Modern, timeless design with medium rim and consistent dining area (well) as Avantgarde.   Aggressively price positioned.  Target is to be a volume range.

Interesting Pieces:  Flat plate (17, 18, & 32 cm) and deep plates (18 & 30) are also available in relief/embossed pattern.  

What other shapes you can use with this shape:  Pure Style can be combined with all other modern Tafelstern shapes.   Both the espresso and the combi-saucer of “Pure Style” fit the cups and mugs of Coffeelings, Inspiration, Relation Today, and Bistro Collection.
